In the present research work, efforts are made to study the performance of the uncoated and cold spray NiCrAlY-coated superalloy in medical waste incinerator environment. The study was conducted in the secondary chamber of medical waste incinerator. The high-temperature performance of uncoated and coated superalloy was assessed by measuring the penetration of corrosion species and drop off scale thickness. The development of Al2O3 in the top oxide scale and dense structure of the coating is found to be responsible for the better performance of coated superalloy against erosion–corrosion. Cold spray NiCrAlY-coated heat exchanger tubes were estimated to have degradation rate about 35 mils/year.  相似文献

In this article, free space capacitance of dielectric‐coated conducting curvilinear surfaces is obtained using method of moments (MOM). The surfaces are discretized using triangular subsections. The curvilinear surfaces are represented by quadratic parametric elements. The MOM based on the pulse basis function and point matching is used. The integrand is divided into a regular and a singular part. The regular part of the integral is numerically evaluated by using the Gaussian quadrature algorithm for triangles. The Duffy transformation is used to evaluate the singular part of the integrals. Computed results are given for the capacitance of the dielectric‐coated conducting cylinder of finite axial length and truncated cone, and compared with the previously published results. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. New developments in photonic technology need new materials for various applications. In the present report, Nd3+-doped NaF-Na2O-B2O3 glasses were prepared and the spectroscopic and glass transition properties were analysed. The Fourier transform infrared spectral studies reveal that the glass contains BO3 and BO4 units as the local structures and the Na+ ions as the network modifiers. The absorption studies were carried out by using Judd-Ofelt theory, the experimental and theoretical oscillator strengths were also calculated. The emission spectral study was done for the 1 mol% Nd-doped glass and the spontaneous emission probability and stimulated emission cross-sections for the , transitions were calculated using the J-O parameters.  相似文献

Processing of YBCO films by decomposition of metal trifluoroacetate precursors and its application to the development of coated conductors is investigated. The technique involves preparation of the solution, deposition, and a two-stage heat treatment. A stoichiometric mixture of the acetates of Y, Ba, and Cu and trifluoroacetic acid are used as the starting materials. The glassy residue of the trifluoroacetates of Y, Ba, and Cu formed by drying the above mixture is redispersed in a fixed amount of methanol to provide the starting solution of a given concentration. This solution is then deposited on the substrate surface by the spin coating technique and heat treated in two stages. X-Ray characterization shows that the transformation to 123 is complete in less than 1 h. Pole figure analysis of films deposited on (100) SrTiO3 and LaAlO3 single crystal substrates show that these films have a very high degreee of alignment with the substrate both out-of-plane (<0.5°) and in-plane (<1.5°). These chemically derived films were also found to have critical current densities well above 5 × 105 at 77 K for 0.5 m thick films. The applicability of this technique to the production of thick films of YBCO for the development of coated conductors will be discussed.  相似文献

Cloud-based systems promise an on-demand service provisioning system along with a ??pay-as-you-use?? policy. In the case of multi-tenant systems this would mean dynamic creation of a tenant by integrating existing cloud-based services on the fly. Presently, dynamic creation of a tenant is handled by building the required components from scratch. Although multi-tenant systems help providers save cost by allocating multiple tenants to the same instance of an application, they incur huge reconfiguration costs. Cost and time spent on these reconfiguration activities can be reduced by re-constructing tenants from existing tenant configurations supported by service providers. Multi-tenant cloud-based systems also lack the facility of allowing clients to specify their requirements. Giving clients the flexibility to specify requirements helps them avoid spending an excessive amount of time and effort looking through a list of services, many of which might not be relevant to them. Moreover, dynamic provisioning in the cloud requires an integrated solution across the technology stack (software, platform and infrastructure) combining functional, non-functional and resource allocation requirements. Existing research works in the area of web service matching, although numerous, still fall short, since they usually consider each requirement type in isolation and cannot provide an integrated solution. To that end, in this paper we investigate the features needed for dynamic service provisioning on the cloud. We propose a novel User Interface-Tenant Selector-Customizer (UTC) model and approach, which enables cloud-based services to be systematically modeled and provisioned as variants of existing service tenants in the cloud. Our approach considers functional, non-functional and resource allocation requirements, which are explicitly specified by the client via the user interface component of the model. To the best of our knowledge, ours is the first such integrated approach. We illustrate our ideas using a realistic running example, and also present a proof-of-concept prototype built using IBM??s Rational Software Architect modeling tool. We also present experimental results demonstrating the applicability of our matching algorithm. Our results show significant reduction in matching time with the help of an elimination process that reduces the search space needed for performing matching.  相似文献

In this article, a novel design of compact cavity‐backed slot antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology is presented for dual‐frequency communication services. A single layer printed circuit board is applied to implement the proposed antenna. The bowtie‐ring slot engraved on the SIW square cavity is excited using two orthogonal microstrip feed lines to operate at two distinct frequencies (6.62 GHz and 11.18 GHz). The proposed antenna allows each of these frequencies to be designed independently. A prototype of the proposed cavity‐backed antenna that radiates at both 6.62 GHz and 11.18 GHz is fabricated and measured. The port isolation better than 29.3 dB is achieved by utilizing the transmission zeros (TZs), which are produced due to the orthogonal feed lines, TE110 mode and coupling between the TE120 and TE210 modes. The measured peak gains of the proposed diplexing antenna are 5.77 dBi and 5.81 dBi at lower and upper resonating frequencies, respectively. The proposed dual‐frequency antenna exhibits the front‐to‐back‐ratio (FTBR) and cross‐polarization level greater than 26 dB and 21 dB, respectively, at both resonating frequencies.  相似文献

Adsorption capacity of Cr(VI) onto Hevea Brasilinesis (Rubber wood) sawdust activated carbon was investigated in a batch system by considering the effects of various parameters like contact time, initial concentration, pH and temperature. Cr(VI) removal is pH dependent and found to be maximum at pH 2.0. Increases in adsorption capacity with increase in temperature indicate that the adsorption reaction is endothermic. Based on this study, the thermodynamic parameters like standard Gibb's free energy (DeltaG degrees ), standard enthalpy (DeltaH degrees ) and standard entropy (DeltaS degrees ) were evaluated. Adsorption kinetics of Cr(VI) ions onto rubber wood sawdust activated carbon were analyzed by pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order models. Pseudo second-order model was found to explain the kinetics of Cr(VI) adsorption most effectively. Intraparticle diffusion studies at different temperatures show that the mechanism of adsorption is mainly dependent on diffusion. The rate of intraparticle diffusion, film diffusion coefficient and pore diffusion coefficient at various temperatures were evaluated. The Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm were used to describe the adsorption equilibrium studies of rubber wood sawdust activated carbon at different temperatures. Langmuir isotherm shows better fit than Freundlich and Temkin isotherm in the temperature range studied. The result shows that the rubber wood sawdust activated carbon can be efficiently used for the treatment of wastewaters containing chromium as a low cost alternative compared to commercial activated carbon and other adsorbents reported.  相似文献

Acoustical measures of vocal function are routinely used in the assessments of disordered voice, and for monitoring the patient's progress over the course of voice therapy. Typically, acoustic measures are extracted from sustained vowel stimuli where short-term and long-term perturbations in fundamental frequency and intensity, and the level of "glottal noise" are used to characterize the vocal function. However, acoustic measures extracted from continuous speech samples may well be required for accurate prediction of abnormal voice quality that is relevant to the client's "real world" experience. In contrast with sustained vowel research, there is relatively sparse literature on the effectiveness of acoustic measures extracted from continuous speech samples. This is partially due to the challenge of segmenting the speech signal into voiced, unvoiced, and silence periods before features can be extracted for vocal function characterization. In this paper we propose a joint time-frequency approach for classifying pathological voices using continuous speech signals that obviates the need for such segmentation. The speech signals were decomposed using an adaptive time-frequency transform algorithm, and several features such as the octave max, octave mean, energy ratio, length ratio, and frequency ratio were extracted from the decomposition parameters and analyzed using statistical pattern classification techniques. Experiments with a database consisting of continuous speech samples from 51 normal and 161 pathological talkers yielded a classification accuracy of 93.4%.  相似文献

We propose a modified Fitzhugh-Nagumo neuron (MFNN) model. Based on this model, an integer-order MFNN system (case A) and a fractional-order MFNN system (case B) were investigated. In the presence of electromagnetic induction and radiation, memductance and induction can show a variety of distributions. Fractional-order magnetic flux can then be considered. Indeed, a fractional-order setting can be acceptable for non-uniform diffusion. In the case of an MFNN system with integer-order discontinuous magnetic flux, the system has chaotic and non-chaotic attractors. Dynamical analysis of the system shows the birth and death of period doubling, which is a sign of antimonotonicity. Such a behavior has not been studied previously in the dynamics of neurons. In an MFNN system with fractional-order discontinuous magnetic flux, different attractors such as chaotic and periodic attractors can be observed. However, there is no sign of antimonotonicity.
